Welcome to the web pages of the Computer Engineering Group !

Our field of activity is the hardware-software interface of modern computing systems. The increasing heterogeneity of design goals and novel implementation alternatives pose great challenges on the hardware-software interface. Especially in embedded systems with their many conflicting design goals such as sufficient computational performance, minimized cost, minimized power consumption, short time-to-market, and extensibility, hardware/software codesign is steadily gaining importance. We are interested in the design and evaluation of novel architectures, the development of design methods and tools, and in prototypical application design. Our current research focus is on programmable concurrency, and covers reconfigurable computing and many-core architectures.

In teaching, we support the basic education in computer engineering and computer architecture. For students in their 3rd year and higher, we offer courses and seminars on hardware/software codesign and reconfigurable computing.
